Darlington’s future today remained in the balance, with crucial talks scheduled.
There is understood to be three parties interested in the club, but no clear favourite - and all three parties still have a lot of work to do if they are to save the club.
Young businessman Paul Wildes, 35 - who is reported to have said yesterday that he planned to take the club out of administration by the weekend - has revealed he has not agreed a deal with former club chairman Raj Singh.
He is understood to have last night told members of the Darlington Football Club Rescue Group that he had pulled out of a bid to buy the club.
But he later said that he was still interested, though confirmed he had no agreement with the former chairman, which could be a crucial element of any deal.

The most experienced figure in the Darlington Football Club Rescue Group has stressed that the community effort to back the club must continue.
Steve Weeks, former chairman of Quakers, has been a supporter of the club for decades.
And, after the Uncovered fans website last night revealed details of a plan by venture capitalist Paul Wildes to save the club and take it out of administration, Weeks told the Gazette: “The club has never before seen such a coming together of the community that we have now.
“The club has been in administration before but what we are witnessing now, with so many people rallying round, is very special.
“Everybody wants to help, from businesses, fans and schoolchildren. The youngsters are raising a lot of money, and awareness.
“And it is vital that this all-round effort continues. This has to be just the beginning if we are to have a vibrant club with the town and area fully involved.”

Darlington have been saved from liquidation at the eleventh hour after a rescue group pledged £50,000 to ensure their survival for the next three games.
Administrator Harvey Madden told the playing staff and manager Craig Liddle that the club had folded at 12pm, only for the Darlington Football Club Rescue Group to arrive at the Northern Echo Arena with fresh funds.
Madden then staged a meeting with representatives from the Rescue Group and at 3pm it was announced the club’s future would be secured until the end of January.

A BIG step to secure the future of Darlington Football Club could be made today.
A small consortium - though with financial clout - was today speaking to administrator Harvey Madden to put forward their proposals to rescue the club.
There are other parties involved in talks, but the emerging consortium could hold the key, though may well be prepared to work with other interested parties to ensure that the 129 year old club has a future.
The consortium does not want to be identified at this stage, but is believed to be Yorkshire based.
Interested parties are understood to include one with connections to a major residential property developer, which indicates that one plan is to move the club from its current site at The Arena some time in the foreseeable future should a rescue deal be agreed.
That would require planning consent from Darlington Borough Council.

From the Evening Gazette article: New bid to save Darlington Football Club
“We have been inundated with offers from people willing to wash the floor, answer the phone, prepare the pitch. The response has been brilliant. They care so much. We can’t let this club die.”
Club Secretary, Colin Galloway
Darlington have no game tomorrow, but are due - if the administrator agrees - to host Fleetwood a week later.
The latest developments mean that the match is now likely to go ahead, though Darlington are short of players.
Goalkeeper Sam Russell has left for Forest Green, as reported in yesterday’s Gazette, while striker Liam Hatch and club captain Jamie Chandler have both joined Gateshead today.
But Blue Square Premier officials are likely to allow caretaker manager Craig Liddle to bring players in if necessary.
He has only a handful of senior professionals, and even though Darlington are under a transfer embargo until players are paid in full, the rules could be relaxed in the interests of fair competition.
Big-spending Fleetwood have a very strong squad, and Darlington will probably be allowed to sign players on a short term basis to ensure they do not have to field a side of youth team players.
Volunteers continue to try and help the Quakers. Club football secretary Colin Galloway said: “We have been inundated with offers from people willing to wash the floor, answer the phone, prepare the pitch. The response has been brilliant. They care so much. We can’t let this club die.”
